Sam Cook couldn't have chosen a better occasion to pick his maiden five-wicket haul, he grabbed it against Hampshire in the match that won Essex the county championship after 25 years. He is a right-arm pace bowler who made his debut for Essex in the 2016 season against the touring West Indies.
Cook picked up 18 wickets at an average of 15.89 in 2017 season and played a pivotal role in the county winning championship. He ended the season on a terrific note with five-wicket-hauls in the consecutive matches. Since then, he has been a regular part of the Essex pace battery.
