Born in Bolton, Josh Bohannon is a genuine all-rounder, who is a top-order batsman and a seam bowler. The Boltonian has risen from the age-group levels of cricket in Lancashire. He played junior cricket at Farnworth Social Circle alongside Haseeb Hameed. Having represented the Under 13s, 14s, 15s and 17s, Bohannon made his List A debut in the 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup.
He debuted for Lancashire's Second XI in 2014 and was a key member of its squad, which won the one-day trophy in 2016. Prior to the 2018 home season, Bohannon went to Sydney to play grade cricket for Randwick Petersham Cricket Club. He sustained a side injury, following which he was out of action for close to 12 weeks. He recovered in time which enabled him to make his maiden appearance for Lancashire's first-team against Warwickshire.
