A 17-year old had to pick between Cricket and AFL (Australian Rules Football). He chose cricket. Will Sutherland, son of Cricket Australia chief James, decided that his heart was with cricket and wants to turn professional in the years to come.
A member of the Australia under-19 team, Will has also led the team and has made the cut to be a part of the WC to be held in January 2018 in New Zealand. This after he was offered a rookie contract by the Victorian state team and the Renegades for BBL 07. He also became the youngest from Victoria to have played list A cricket when he debuted for them against South Australia in the JLT One-Day Cup.
Prior to that he had made his list A debut by turning up for a CA XI side against the touring Pakistanis in January 2017. A powerful striker of the ball, Will also bowls fast. A more than handy all-rounder for the future.
