Biography

Anderson Phillip is a much-needed right-arm express pace bowler (for the Windies) hailing from Trinidad, who made his first-class debut in the regional 4-day competition in the 2016/17 season. He rose through the ranks of junior cricket and crawled his way up to the highest level of cricket after some impressive and penetrative performances at the Under-19 level for Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2016, Trinbago Knight Riders drafted him into their CPL side as a rookie pacer to nurture whilst with the franchise. He made his way up through the sheer weight of performances at the regional Under-19 in Trinidad, finishing it with several penetrative spells with the ball and the odd lower-order contribution with the bat too.

In the CPL, he has often been expensive without one of the most potent weapons in the shortest format - the yorker. However, he is still extremely young and has the raw pace to trouble the batsman, which he showcased a few times in the 2018 edition of the league. However, due to inconsistent performances and a few nervous spells, he was dropped for the final of the event in favor of Khary Pierre.
