Biography

Combermere school is known to produce Test cricketers for Windies. Frank Worell and Wes Hall are a few of the names. Shamar Springer is another one to have graduated from the same school.

The Barbadian came to limelight during the 2016 under-19 World Cup with his street smart batting and effective medium pacers. 285 runs and 7 wickets from 6 games in the tourney ensured his performances stood out compared to others in the team. A strong hitter of the cricket ball, Springer showed a lot of restraint in his 88 ball 62 against Bangladesh in the semi-finals of the 2016 under-19 World Cup.

His 'chest roll' dance move after Windies team won the under-19 WC in 2016 was one of the highlights of the tournament. He also managed to debut at the first-class level in 2017.
