Akshay Karnewar possesses one of the rarest trades in cricket - ambidexterity. Born in Wagholi, Maharashtra, he plays for Vidarbha and first came into the limelight in 2015 against Odisha in a List A game.
It was his coach who spotted his talent at a young age and persuaded him to be an ambidextrous bowler. Mesmerized by the art, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him in the 2016 IPL auctions, however he didn't play a single game in the tournament.
In 2017, he was included in the Board President’s XI for a warm-up game against Australia. In the same year, he made his first-class debut for Vidarbha and picked up his maiden fifer against Punjab.
