Biography

It is a rare sight to see a left-arm pacer in South Africa. There are very few of them; Wayne Parnell, Lonwabo Tsosobe, the last two to represent the national team. So, Carmi le Roux has a good chance to play for his country, if he backs up his talent with regular performances.

Born in Johannesburg, le Roux came through the age groups like some of his peers. His first taste of first class cricket came in 2015 when he was picked by Gauteng for the domestic one-day tournament - CSA Provincial 50 Over Challenge at Paarl. He also played in the 2016 Africa T20 Cup.

The Lions saw his potential and added him to their armory. He represented them in the Momentum One-Day Cup, where he played six games and scalped eight wickets. With the introduction of franchise cricket in South Africa, le Roux was picked by Benoni Zalmi in the 2017 auction.
