A name that will strike a chord among the movie buffs, especially in the Southern state of India, Tamil Nadu, because of the protagonist of a popular movie who apparently shares the same name in the movie, Sanjay Ramaswamy; unlike his name-sake, the youngster has no connection to films.
He was born in Varanasi and later migrated to Vidarbha in quest to pursue his cricket career. He made his Ranji debut in 2014 against Punjab and had a mediocre outing with scores of 2 and 25 in both innings respectively. Vidarbha failed to qualify for the knock-outs and Sanjay couldn't get a consistent run. He has been in-and-out of the side for the last few years but has blossomed into a perfect opening partner for his skipper Faiz Fazal in 2017/18 season; Churning out 463 runs in 6 innings at an average 92.60. If he can carry his rich vein of form, Sanjay could well be in the reckoning for top honors.
