Biography

Just like his surname, he is easy to the eyes. Jordan Silk had a grand entry to first-class cricket as he scored a ton in only his 3rd game and ensured Tasmania won the Shield in 2012-13. 347 runs from three games in his debut season capped off a dream start for the young man.

But reality invaded the dream and the next season in the Shield was a modest one as he churned out 421 runs in 6 games at a middling average of 35.08. Silk's numbers crashed further and so did his stocks of being the next big thing. In 10 games for Tasmania in 2014-15, Jordan tallied only 503 runs at a very poor average of 27.94.

He opted out of the Matador One Day Cup in 2015-16 season and also lost his place in the first-class side. Though his form has petered out but he is still has been rated as one for the future in Australia cricketing circles.

Ricky Ponting had once remarked him as the 'best fieldsman in the country'. And his terrific take in BBL 03 spread like wild fire on the Internet. He has been with Sydney Sixers in BBL ever since making his debut for them in the 2013-14 season.
