Biography
A left-arm spinner, Hamza Hotak, was a part of the Afghanistan Under-19 squad for the 2010 World Cup in New Zealand. In the semi-final of the ACC U-19 Cup Elite in Kuwait he picked up 3 for 18 against Nepal, his best cricketing achievement during his younger years.
Hotak made his first-class debut for Afghanistan against Canada in the 2011-13 ICC Intercontinental Cup. His ODI debut came against a full member Test-playing nation, when Afghanistan played Pakistan at Sharjah in February 2012. Hotak's best performance in ODIs came against Kenya in October 2013 when he picked up 3 wickets in 10 overs, conceding only 19 runs, helping the other bowlers to restrict Kenya to a mere 93.
Hotak did not feature heavily in the 2014 Asia Cup and the World T20 and his performances in the games that he played were pretty average.
