Biography

When the then Leicestershire one day skipper Josh Cobb in September 2014 decided to make the move to Northants, he became the third player from the club to sign the exit papers along side Shiv Thakor and Nathan Buck. All hell went loose at Grace Road as they were the bottom placed team in division two and had been win-less in the championship for the last two years.

The right-handed middle order batsman before leaving the club had tallied 3133 runs at a meager average of just more than 25. But it was white ball cricket, where Josh realized his true potential and was Man of the Match in the finals of the 2011 T20 Blast where his offies helped him scalp 4 wickets and helped Leicestershire win their third title. In 2016, Cobb again put in a power-packed show of 80 runs to help the Steelbacks win their second title. Josh Cobb became the only player to be awarded the Man of the Match twice in the finals of the domestic T20 competition. In 2016, he also renewed the deal with Northants and signed up for three more years.
