Biography
Born in Newtown, Sydney, Jeremy Bray played most of his junior cricket for New South Wales and Australia. He represented Australia in the Under-19 age group before moving to Ireland and scoring a 74 in their famous win against West Indies in 2004. Bray was a left-handed opening batsman, who could also keep wickets.
He held the record for the highest first-class score by an Irishman with his 190 against UAE before Eoin Morgan scored a double hundred versus the same side to take it away from Bray. The southpaw was one of the bright spots on a rather disappointing 2007 World Cricket League in Kenya, where he scored his first hundred for Ireland against Scotland in a losing cause. Bray followed that up with a ton in the 2007 50-over World Cup against Zimbabwe, which helped Ireland tie the game.
However, he was soon found wanting against the short delivery and failed to make an impact after the mega event. Bray retired in 2010 at the age of 36, saying he wasn't confident of maintaining his fitness.
