Biography
Relatively new to international cricket, Dilshan Madushanka made his T20I debut in August 2022 against Afghanistan in Dubai. A left-arm pacer who has the ability to swing the ball in the powerplay, Madushanka didn't have a great T20I debut, but he managed to impress in the next few T20Is as he picked 6 wickets in 3 matches following his T20I debut. He made his ODI debut in January 2023, but his contribution in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers was a noticable one. The left-arm speedster picked three wickets each against Zimbabwe and Netherlands and was one of the reasons for Sri Lanka's success and qualification for the 2023 ODI World Cup. All eyes will be on him in the tournament, so it will be interesting to see whether he manages to trouble the batters in the powerplay and clinch some crucial wickets with the new ball in Indian conditions.
