Following India Under19's thumping victory against Sri Lanka in the final of Under-19 Asia Cup, Rajesh Mohanty received a warm welcome from his supporters at Bhubaneswar Airport. The fans embraced him with a garland and lifted him as soon as the youngster walked out of the departure gate and this has to be one of the best moments in his cricket career.
Mohanty - who's 18 made his List-A debut for Odisha against Andhra during the Vijay Hazare Trophy in September 2018. However, it wasn't a debut to remember as the team he was representing lost that fixture by a comprehensive margin. In the ACC Under19 Asia Cup, Mohanty was the spearhead of the bowling attack and he did manage to trouble most batsmen upfront with his gentle medium pace but wasn't able to pick wickets with the new ball. Anyways, there's still a long way ahead in his professional cricket career and if the young bowler works hard on his pace and fitness, he has good chances of winning an IPL contract in near future.
