Babar Azam | Peshawar Zalmi Captain: Our plans weren’t executed in the first six overs, and that’s where the game changed. We covered up after that but couldn’t finish well. The behaviour of the pitch changed a bit in the second innings, the ball started staying low and was slower. It isn’t an excuse, but we couldn’t build partnerships and we kept losing wickets back to back. The way Saim played was great, he will be an asset for Peshawar Zalmi this season. When you have a mentor like him (Inzamam), you learn a lot. He shares all his experiences and all the youngsters try to learn from him
18:42 Local Time, 13:42 GMT, 19:12 IST: It has been a second straight one-sided affair in Rawalpindi and the Gladiators put up a show. They were asked to bat first and the entire top-5 contributed as they amassed 216 on the board. The Zalmis would've fancied their chances of chasing it down, but they lost Babar Azam for a duck and then struggled through the batting PP. It didn't help that they lost wickets in clusters, back-to-back wickets with the score reading 30, 93, 103 and 117. You're never going to win a game of cricket with such a sorry scorecard and the Zalmis found it to their discomfort. They were a tad unlucky that the wicket slowed down and the odd ball stayed low, but the Gladiators did deserve that piece of luck. Four wickets for Abrar, two each for Tariq and Abrar, and it was a top effort from the bowling unit in unison.
