A high-scoring match which yielded 425 runs has just ended in Centurion, but down south in Cape Town, we 're ready for the second game of the day. Change tabs and enjoy all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
David Miller - To be honest, it was a good wicket, we bowled well, were unlucky in the last over, it does take the wind out of you when you concede 24 runs. But we spoke about building partnerships and taking it deep. We had a couple of tactical changes, nice when it works out, happy for the young man (on Rubin Hermann), he's worked hard and it's great when it comes over. He's a legend (on Joe Root), nice to have worked with him, in Yorkshire as well. He's a steady guy, a calm guy who you can turn to when required.
Rilee Rossouw - We knew it was a decent wicket, they batted so well and never gave us a chance. Two experienced batters (on Root and Miller), credit to the way they built and finished. We've a lot of experience, these guys have cricket brains to whom I can turn and get some advice. We weren't up to standards in the field, that's something we can address going forward.
Joe Root | Player of the Match - I'm happy, it's a great tournament, great to be a part and have an opportunity to play T20 cricket. Nice to get over the line, the middle-order is full of experience, we've Pretorious and Hermann at the top, they're young and we've players with a lot of experience down in the middle. I knew partnerships were the key, anything could have been chased here, just wanted to stay in the game, the wicket was good, the ball flies and we can chase anything here.
16:42 Local Time, 14:42 GMT, 20:12 IST: Two dropped catches in the deep, two tough chances and Marques Ackermann dropped both, but it would be highly unfair to balance him for today's loss for the Capitals. They were half chances at best and a bit of luck involved, he might've clutched onto both, but this was a record chase and the Royals did it with absolute ease. SuperSport park rolled out a batting beauty and both sets of batters feasted themselves. Root held the innings right from the onset, Lhuan Pretorius fell first ball, but Hermann came in, took his time and then blazed them to all parts of the ground. He added 125 for the second wicket with Root, which set the platform for Miller to come and finish it off. The Capitals needed wickets and they barely created anything. Royals go on top of the standings with this win and they'll be more confident going further

Neesham to Miller, 2 runs, was it another chance? Looks like Ackermann has dropped another at wide long-off, they're back for the second and Paarl Royals win by 8 wickets
Rossouw has a chat with his bowler, 2 needed off 3 balls
19.3
Neesham to Root, 1 run, to mid-off
Neesham, from round the wicket
19.2
Neesham to Miller, 1 run, to backward square leg
19.1
Neesham to Miller, FOUR, clubbed, on a length and angling into the right-hander, Miller drags the pull and finds the gap wide of mid-wicket - 4 needed off 5 balls now
James Neesham [3.0-0-32-1] is back into the attack
The rooyals need 8 off the last over - Miller and Root in, you'd still think they should be able to get home. Neesham with the ball, can he pull off a heist?
18.6
Tiaan van Vuuren to Root, no run, a dot ball to end the over, slower ball outside off and it's driven back at the bowler
18.5
Tiaan van Vuuren to Root, FOUR, to third man
