Clinical win for India and just the kind of start they would've wanted to go 1 up in this 3-match ODI series. That's it from us here, take care and goodbye.
Renuka Singh Thakur | Player of the Match: The team motivates me. Harman asked me if I wanted to bowl and my confidence also grew as the wickets fell. We did some spot bowling yesterday because it is important for ODIs. We concentrated on single-wicket balls, I spoke to Jhulan Goswami as well and she helped me with it. Difficult for bowlers as lines and lengths are different (to T20 cricket), that's why we practice. Whatever we practice, that's what gets executed.
Harmanpreet Kaur: I should give credit to our physio team, they've been working really hard. I've been struggling with the knee for 3-4 months, big thanks to them for getting me fit. Credit goes to our fielding coach as well. Happy with how things are going. The way Smriti is batting, that's something outstanding. It's looking really easy but trust me it is not. Renuka's bowling has been amazing for so many years and today was special. We've been speaking about fielding as well, the way we've done in the last series and today has been great. Facilities in India are great, we love playing in home conditions. Beautiful ground, beautiful conditions, we're grateful to the BCCI for their support.
Hayley Matthews: We weren't quite on the mark today, all three facets of the game really. Not really a brand of cricket we want to be playing, we need to find ways to get better. Just getting back to training and being hungrier, we weren't consistent with the ball and in the field. You're going to have bad days as cricketers, we need to try some things on those days and not make it a habit. We felt like we could keep them to 270-280, they didn't get a lot more than we expected. Being better in the field would help as well.
Renuka Singh Thakur: Feels very good, first time I've got 5 wickets in ODIs. Everyone backed me up. I train hard on my fitness and that's why I was able to bowl an 8-over spell, feeling proud of myself for being that fit. Dottin's wicket was my favourite because it was a pretty good ball.
19:37 Local Time, 14:07 GMT, 19:37 IST: Comprehensive win for India. They were dominant with the bat earlier in the day and more still with the ball after.
