That's all folks from the final bit of Test cricket for 2024. We'll be back in the New Year with these same two teams kicking us off on 2nd January. Join us then, bye for now!!
H Shahidi | Player of the Match: Feeling very happy, feel happy when you do special things for the country, especially in Test cricket. I don't follow social media much, our country people have their right to criticise me or others, but we give our 100%. We train hard and we want to do something special for the nation. We did well, me, Rahmat and Afsar and hopefully our countrymen will be happy. We wanted to play 30 minutes (of the final session) and give them the rest of the session, but then rain comes and we couldn't do much. But we have another Test. I think the first day pitch was very flat and our bowlers weren't consistent. They gave easy boundary balls but they have come back strongly today. Rahmat Shah was fantastic, he had some good shots and we built a good partnership. As a senior, you need to take responsibility and I have to give credit to Rahmat for the way he played. Hope he can carry that momentum.
C Ervine:
Then, it was the turn of the visitors to enjoy this batting paradise. Rahmat Shah and Shahidi batted out a whole day without losing a wicket, as both batters got double hundreds. Keeper Afsar Zazai scored his maiden fifty and then converted that into a ton, as Zimbabwe could manage just one wicket for the better part of almost six sessions. Then came an unlikely collapse as Brian Bennett picked up a fifer as Afghanistan stumbled from 679/4 to 699 all out. In the third innings, Zahir Khan had a few close LBW shouts struck down, before he got Gumbie out caught at first slip with a superb googly. Then there was a short rain delay, and when the players returned the pitch was turning quite a bit with that little bit of moisture. Zahir Khan and Allah Ghazanfar bowled superbly in that spell, picking three quick wickets and causing some nervy moments in the Zimbabwe camp. However, their veterans Ervine and Williams dug it out and played the next hour before both captains agreed on a draw. We'll stay around for the presentations.

Drinks are on the field now. We are into the last hour of play, both captains can now agree for a draw and shake on it.
