That’s a wrap on the ODI series. Pakistan arrived here without a lot of their regulars but they didn’t really miss them. They did falter in the first ODI, but since then have stepped up with many of the next gen being bedded into international cricket. We’ll be back in Bulawayo on Sunday now for the start of the T20I series. Join us then, bye for now!
This new look Pakistani team line up for photos with the trophy also. All beaming smiles amongst the younger boys as Rizwan relegates himself to the background. A clinical performance from Pakistan to clinch the series 2-1 after losing the first ODI.
Mohammad Rizwan: It is a proud feeling. We lost the first match and the expectation from the nation is very high. But we had the confidence to bounce back. We knew we would face some pressure here, away is always difficult in terms of conditions. But as professionals, we did very well, minimized our mistakes and performed well. We decided as a team we would never look at the pitch or the conditions, it is the same for us and them. We will just look to perform as professionals. (On starting with spinners) We decided because of the weather that we would bat first, get a good total and bowl 20 overs as soon as possible to get the DLS result. This is probably the first time we've bowled 20 overs in the first hour.
Craig Ervine: The top of the order has been a problem for us, losing early wickets puts us on the backfoot. We have always been up with the rate, it is about building big partnerships for the middle order and lower order. We've got some good youngsters coming through, no doubt these guys would be around for a lot longer. I head back to Harare tomorrow, got a few days off but then it is back to training. Our bowlers have been special throughout, specially the seamers. Very proud of the boys for the effort, unfortunate to not come away with the series.
Saim Ayub | Player of the Series: It was similar to the last game, the pitch was a bit slower today. We just see the ball and react, sometimes it goes outside the boundary, sometimes it goes for a catch. We just trust the process and enjoy, everything is not in our control. We try to stay in the present and enjoy each other's company.
Kamran Ghulam is the Player of the Match
Sean Williams being given a special award from Cricket Zimbabwe for amassing 5000 International runs.
