Moeen Ali | Birmingham Phoenix captain: Very pleased with the points. We made a mistake in the last game where we batted first, it was nipping around. (On Sean Abbott) He can bowl anytime, a real good cricketer, great in the field, batting and bowling and that’s a kind of player you want in the side. Tim is really good, his knowledge and experience in the game, just as a captain takes the pressure off me. We have a really good and experienced bowling lineup. (On Jacob Bethell) He is a real talent, he is a class player, played some beautiful shots, he has got a really good head on his shoulders and I’m happy for him. He is really relaxed, the fact that he is 20 years old, it’s amazing. He has got real good methods to his game. I was a little bit worried. Daws (Dawson) does really well in these kind of situations, at the end very happy. The ball has been doing a bit more this season and I think it will continue throughout the competition. The two young guys in the middle showed how to play today.
Sean Abbott | Player of the Match: The feedback from the guys Milne and Southee, who opened up was that it was doing a little bit, kept it up at the top of the stumps and it did a little bit, lucky to get a few wickets at the start. All games have the opportunity to get tight at the end, taking wickets early is always a bonus. Definitely the ball did upfront and both teams bowled well, I'm sure the batting units will be challenged. Nice to be out there, chuffed for Benny. I think the two young boys batted really well for us.
21:35 Local Time, 20:35 GMT, 02:05 IST: Phoenix have done well to win a low-scoring humdinger. Dawson and Russell did well to take Spirit to a fighting total. At the halfway stage, the Phoenix would have fancied their chances to chase this one with ease but they were jolted early. Worrall and Stone were brilliant with the new ball and the Phoenix were reduced to 20/4. Two youngsters, Mousley and Bethell, joined hands and steadied the ship. They mixed caution with aggression to perfection and kept the runs flowing. The former went through a lean phase where the runs dried up for him and he eventually crumbled under pressure. Bethell played a few more expansive shots and he got Howell for company who looked fluent from the start. Bethell departed against the run of play but by then, the game was well in Phoenix's favour. Dawson bowled a brilliant penultimate set where he took the wicket of Fuller and bowled three dots on the trot to bring his side back into the contest. He was entrusted with the final set as well as Phoenix needed 6 off 5 balls. But, Abbott and Howell kept their cool and took their side over the line with a ball to spare.

Dawson to Benny Howell, FOUR, smashed! That will do for the Phoenix! Benny Howell has held his nerves to take his side over the line. A half-volley on off, Benny Howell clears his front leg and hits it over extra cover for a rocketing boundary. Finally, a close game in the Men's Hundred. Customary handshakes all around

Dawson to Benny Howell, 2 runs, just out of reach of point! On a back of a length outside off, Benny Howell throws his bat at it and gets a thick outside edge. The fielder leaps but it just evades him. The batters rush back for the second run. Only 1 needed off 2 balls now

Dawson to finish off. Can he pull off something magical? Phoenix need 6 runs off 5 balls
15.5
Dawson to Abbott, no run, three dots in a row! Quick length ball on leg-stump, Abbott looks to sweep it across but misses to get struck on the pads. A late call from Lawrence to take the review. Time for the replays. Looks to be clearly going down leg. Over to ball-tracking and it's going down leg

Dawson to Abbott, no run, another quick and flat one, coming in with the arm, Abbott backs away to chop it but seems to have got an inside edge. The ball deflects off Rossington's pads and goes towards cover-point
