The Hundred is here and we are just done with the first game. Oval ensured it was a mismatch courtesy their great usage of the conditions. The ball zipped around and Oval decimated the batting line of their opponents. Birmingham fell well short today. But it is just the start. They will have a chance to comeback. That is it for the day! We will come back soon with more cricketing action.
Zampa: Good feeling. Not much of a spinning wicket. It skids on a little. Tried to attack the sticks and it worked. Little bit of chat what we did well last year. What works here. We have lot of players who have got lot of experience. Really enjoyable competition. Couple of tactical differences from the T20s. When the weather is perfect, it it is a great place to play.
20:44 Local Time, 19:44 GMT, 01:14 IST: Oval Invincibles didn't lose too much of sweat to chase that down. Jacks fell early. Muyeye entertained. Then Malan and Billings took over to do the job. There was some movement in the second innings. But wasn't enough runs from Birmingham. They only put on a meagre 89 on the board and that never was going to suffice. Amir, Mahmood and Zampa just set it up for the defending champions.
11.3
Mousley to Billings, FOUR, the defending champions have opened their account in an emphatic manner. They win by 8 wickets. Was a short ball, Billings stood tall and pulled it down to send it wide of deep square. The Oval team Invincibles indeed tonight
11.2

11.1
Mousley to Malan, 1 run, on the pads, Malan fails to tuck it well
11.1
Mousley to Malan, wide, down leg and has been wided
10.6
Mousley to Billings, 1 run, round the wicket, on the pads, tucked down to deep mid for a single. Billings wanted a second but was sent back by Malan
Dan Mousley, right-arm off break, comes into the attack
10.5
Southee to Malan, 1 run, gets it square of the wicket for a single and only four needed now to win this. Malan and Billings would want to wipe it off as soon as possible
10.4
Southee to Billings, 1 run, back of a length delivery, outside off, stabbed down to third man for a single
10.3
Southee to Billings, no run, pats it down and fails to beat the man at point
10.2

10.1
Southee to Billings, 2 runs, one shot away now. Was a back of a length delivery, angled in, Billings stayed back to roll his wrists over the pull and get it down for a brace
9.6
Helm to Billings, 1 run, not the first time we have seen this today. He closed the face of the bat and the ball flew off the edge
