We've had 16 matches and we've had two teams making it to the playoffs. There's a lot to play for though and we'll be back tomorrow for another exciting contest featuring the home team. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Corey Anderson, Most Valuable Player - Pretty happy, we were in trouble early, but we bat deep, Hassan Khan was unbelievable, we fought hard to get a score and we knew we had a very good bowling attack. You still gotta play aggressively, find match-ups and get a total you can defend, no point blocking out and getting a small score, Luckily, we got ahead of the game at some point, found the boundaries myself. We were definitely under par, I told the guys to fight, at times the wicket gets better as the match wears on. Proud of my boys and thought we were clinical on that front. (Batting first) Though it wasn't a great idea (when they were reduced to 33 for 5), we have a top-quality side, the top-order has fired, today was the turn of the middle-order - hopefully, we'll have a day when everything fires in unison.
Kieron Pollard - I believe it was the middle period of 15 balls, we didn't get any boundaries and let them get back. But I think we still had a chance and didn't take it. I thought we bowled well to have them at 33 for 5, Boult bowled well, but they had a good partnership to get around 148. I think we should have restricted them to 120, I don't want to blame anyone, luck wasn't on our side at various stages of the tournament. We've played well in patches, we can look into different aspects of bowling (Rashid), in hindsight, we can think differently, but I went with the flow. I have not made justice to my captaincy - the batting hasn't been on song this season, a few games, we've not been great, I haven't done well, Rashid brought us close in a few games. We still have another game, we'll have to play for pride, we've plenty of passion and we'll want to finish well as a franchise.
Matthew Short: It's a huge win. They are a quality side, every team we come up against, there's quality all through. Bit of a strange game, we were lucky enough to score what we did. Our bowlers did really well there in the end. Credit to Corey Anderson and Hassan Khan to get that partnership going and get us to a decent total and a winning total. (On picking two key wicket) He (Pooran) is a freak player, we all know that. I got a little bit lucky, it came off his pad and then hit the bail. Got a bit lucky with that one. Bit of a long boundary, thought I would use that to my advantage (to dismiss Shepherd). Got lucky with a couple tonight. Our top-order has been really strong in the tournament so far barring today. It's really good that a couple of guys through the middle could stand up.
23:13 Local Time, 04:13 GMT, 09:43 IST: A superb day of cricket in Dallas and it was the San Francisco Unicorns who emerged victorious. They've not only confirmed their place in the playoffs, but they've put MI NewYork, the defending champions, on the verge of elimination. They'll not only have to beat the Knight Riders in a must-win game for both, they'll have to do it by a fair margin as well. But they'll wonder as to how they let it slip todnight, they had the Unicorns at 33 for 5 at one stage and then let them off the hook. They lost Clinton early, but Dewald Brevid and Nic Pooran set the platform with a 77-run second wicket partnership. At the half-way stage,. they were well on course, but the Unicorns came roaring back, scalping Brevis, Pollard and POooran in quick time which opened up the middle-order which failed once again. On his MLC debut, Heath Richards nearly did the unthinkable, but the experience of Haris Rauf came up trumps when much needed.
