That's a quality game of cricket. We had some good new ball bowling and a few gutsy efforts with the bat. Balance kept changing and eventually LAKR won this game for better pressure-handling skills. Lots of positives for both sides. Games like these are good adverts for the sport in this part of the world. We go back to Morrisville tomorrow where MI New York will again be in action as Washington Freedom look to start their campaign with a win. We'll see you in a few hours time. Take care!
Sunil Narine | LAKR captain: We played a good game. Struggled with the bat but Unmukt batted really well to get us that total. Have to back yourself. If you think too much about the pitch it could affect your game. Pitch is going to do what is going to do so have a clear mindset and play. On the day yes there's a lot of stats and matchups, but cricket is played on the field/day. Happy it worked, sometimes it doesn't. (Ploy to bowl himself out early which eventually led to Stoinis dismissal). We were under pressure and we came out well today, that will be the key taking today. You have to win games under pressure.
Faf du Plessis | TSK captain: Two overs in the middle where we lost 4 wickets was the turning point. We batted really well till that point. That window cost us. Back-to-back wickets is never good. I thought it was par score. Quite a bit of grass and the rain earlier, it was going to swing. It's a new ball wicket but if you are through with that it's a good pitch to bat.
Ali Khan | PoTM: Cramping right now but felt great out there in the middle and put all my effort for the team. Under Sunil I have been bowling in different roles and he knows me well from other leagues as well. Luckily it paid off today. Fighting mentality, do your best and leave the result to God. I thought he dropped it at first but it aas unbelievable that he caught it again.
Spencer Johnson: (On bowling in the powerplay) Different role for me but just about adapting to the conditions. I enjoy bowling upfront. The weather helped, there was some sideways movement. We did well to get a good total and the boys backed it up with the ball. Exciting times to be back here after USA did so well in the World Cup. (On the Tromp wicket) Unbelievable catch, I was at deep point and had the best view of that. That was the game changer.
23:35 Local Time, 04:35 GMT, 10:05 IST: This is a sensational win for the Knight Riders. Super Kings were coasting towards victory with Conway going great guns and Tromp looking very impressive. Narine didn't employ Ali Khan till 13 overs but on intro he took out Conway, Tromp and Milind in the same over to stun the yellow dugout. Stoinis tried to play out Narine and flex his muscles later on but Narine got him off the last ball of the spell. That's 4 wickets for 5 runs now and the asking rate rocketing high. Ali Khan and Spencer Johnson kept a tight grip but Savage managed to keep the game interested. But he had too much to do in the end and Ali Khan, who bowled with a calf niggle in the last over, missed a deserved fifer by a whisker..
