Sabbhineni Meghana: I took the confidence from the first game, utilise the powerplay and it worked well for me. After Smriti got out, I wanted to rotate strike and give more strike to Perry. I got a message to calm down and if there's a ball to be hit, go for it, otherwise rotate the strike. I have got a lot of support from Smriti and the team. They have told me to back my strengths. Has allowed me to play my natural game. Definitely yes. I'm a bit more relaxed going at 3. I was looking at Smriti because there's so much crowd, we can't hear, I was looking at her for guidance on the field.
Beth Mooney | Gujarat captain: [why she is smiling?] That it's over. I don't have much for you Mel. Defending low totals on these wickets is always tough with the batting RCB have got. Will have to go back to the drawing board. I don't believe in form in this format, if we win the next two, then everyone will forget the first two. Perhaps we're just not taking the high percentage options at the right time. We have to score through the middle-overs, we need wickets in the shed for that as well. We need to get 140. [on Veda at 4] We thought RCB had a few spinners in the middle, we thought it would free her up in the middle but unfortunately it did not work. I might drop myself down the order if I don't get going. T20 is a fickle game and things can change pretty quickly, so I need to wait for that. There's not a whole lot we're doing wrong, just coming across some good batting and bowling. The girls in the group have been picked up for a reason, they need to believe in their skill-set. We can't keep changing players every year and expect to set the world on fire. We need to stick to the players and get them to perform as individuals and as a collective.
22:16 Local Time, 16:46 GMT, 22:16 IST: What a crushing win this is. Set up by the bowlers and Smriti at the top ran away at the start to dent any hopes Gujarat might have had. Devine fell early but Smriti alongside Meghana strolled along before Perry came and applied the finishing touches. Gujarat just did not have enough and their bowling posed no concerns to a well-drilled RCB unit who now have consecutive wins to start off their season. Lots of soul-searching for Mooney and Co. to do as far as Gujarat are concerned. Stay tuned for the presentation...
