The Knight Riders jump up to third place with that win while the Giants slide a place down to fourth. That's it from us here today. Take care and goodbye.
Michael Pepper | Player of the Match: Always have to take the aggressive option while batting in the powerplay. It’s the best time to bat, pace on the ball and you have to just go for it. Pace helped it skid through. There were stages where it was easy and tough, became tough when they started bowling slower balls. Not losing wickets in the powerplay is crucial.
Sunil Narine | Knight Riders captain: We ticked a lot of boxes. Started with picking up wickets in the powerplay, it sets the tone. We wanted to take wickets and the ball was swinging which is why Willey bowled four overs upfront. We’re getting a bit of momentum, still a bit too close for comfort, we need to win by bigger margins. But a win is a win and we’ll take it.
James Vince | Giants captain: Thought we had a par score but the start with the ball wasn’t ideal, it put us back. We showed a bit of fight at the back end but it wasn’t enough. The bowlers struggled to control the swing and a lot of extras in the powerplay took the pressure off them. They bowled pretty well, struggled to get away to 170 but we thought we had a good chance. No pressure, teams have changed a bit. Every team can do well, can’t get everything right. Sure if we play good cricket we’ll be alright.
22:16 Local Time, 18:16 GMT, 23:46 IST: A comfortable win for the Knight Riders but they'll probably look back and think if they could have got this done sooner considering their rather poor NRR. The Gulf Giants were markedly poor with the ball today.
