England and Pakistan came in with a lot of expectations, but haven't lived up to them. England, in particular, have had a shocker of a tournament. This was Pakistan’s just second defeat in eight ODIs at the Eden Gardens.

Buttler: Nice to put in a good performance and finish that way. Ultimately it's been a disappointing tournament. Lots to reflect on. Got off to a really good start, guys in the middle set it up for the end. That's what we're capable of, haven't showed it enough. We shoud've been able to cope without Ben. We know what a class player Ben is. These last two games he's played fantastically well. Not having him for a few games certainly was a challenge, but we're good enough to deal with that. We spoke before the game about - if this is the last game of an era, let's make some good memories. Wherever we go from here, today is a good day. He's been fantastic (Willey). Always finding a way - that's been the hallmark. A team man who'll be missed. It won't be the drastic change of playing style like 2015. It's about making sure we'll push on from here.

Babar: Yes, very disappointed with the performance. If we had won SA match, could've been a different story. But yes, have made mistakes in bowling, batting and fielding. We gave 20-30 runs extra. Bowled few loose deliveries. Our spinners haven't taken wickets. That's had a big effect. If spinners don't take wickets in middle over, you struggle. We have to sit together. Let's see. Will take positives and discuss our mistakes also. I will do the best to pitch in my experience (keen to lead?).

David Willey | PoTM: Tournament hasn't gone to plan, disappointing on that note. It would have been nice to go on a real high. To perform and finish with 100 wickets is a nice way to finish. (About the frustration of a poor start to the World Cup) You only have to look around the dressing room. We have got a phenomenal group of players, massive talents, no doubt we have under performed here which is disappointing. As a collective we should have performed better. (Did not getting a contract give extra motivation) Yeah, Keysy (Rob Key) said hopefully you can prove me wrong. Maybe I have done over the last few games. For me personally it's not many opportunities you get to walk away from cricket on your terms and I wanted to really enjoy the last three games of cricket and play without looking over my shoulder and thinking one bad performance and I am out of the side. (Did you imagine you will play these many games when you first pulled on a shirt as a professional cricketer) No not at all. If I look back at my academy time I was never the best player. I have just found a way and my resilience to keep chipping away to be part of this group - which is such an incredible group of white ball cricketers - I'm immensely proud of that. Very proud of every game. I have been fortunate enough to get a great support network around me to pick me up when I have been down. My wife, I am sure she will be watching back home no doubt. Massive thank you to her, she has picked me up many a time. Proud every time I have pulled on this shirt and the national anthem is pretty special. World Cup win in Australia with family around was pretty special after the disappointment of missing in 2019. From there, finding my way back into the side - I didn't actually play in the competition itself but that moment was very special. Every time you take a wicket is pretty special.
