Rain has the final say and Thunder have crashed out of #BBL12. Chasing 204, they lost Gilkes early, but would have fancied their chances with David Warner looking in ominous touch. But it wasn't to be their night - rain came splashing down and when it came down for the second time, it was all over for the hosts. So, Heat are through to the Knockout where they face the Renegades from Melbourne. For the Thunder, it was a season of mixed fortunes, they recovered from the farce of 15 all-out, stumbled and then reached the play-offs, only for their season to be cruelly cut-short. Brisbane Heat win by 8 runs on DLS method. We're done with the first playoff game and will be back tomorrow as the Scorchers and the Sixers look to become the first team to book a final slot. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
22:18 Local Time, 11:18 GMT, 16:48 IST: Oh dear! The rain is back and so are the covers. We have very little time to spare as well.
22:10 Local Time, 11:10 GMT, 16:40 IST: Rain has stopped and we're hearing that the new target is 90 off 9 overs. That will mean Thunder will need 38 runs off the next 13 balls. With Warner in, you'd think Thunder are in with a chance, no power surge though

21:50 Local Time, 10:50 GMT, 16:20 IST: It is still raining in Sydney. Remember, this is an Eliminator match and the Thunder will be knocked out if play doesn't resume

21:34 Local Time, 10:34 GMT, 16:04 IST: The rain has got hard and the players are walking off. Warner says it could just be a passing shower and should blow away soon. But they're covering the pitch. At the moment, Thunder are 8 runs behind on DLS method

Neser to Warner, no run, short of a good length and on the pads, Warner was looking to flick and missed

It has started to rain, but we'll continue for now - just a mild drizzle

Neser to Jason Sangha, no run, banged in short as Sangha pre-meditated the charge, has to drop his gloves and sway away from the line
