Matt Renshaw | Player of the Match: It's tough, we had a close ODI game (playing for Queensland) and we lost it with a run-out, Matthew Kuhnemann was cool, he just told me to go and play the lap last ball, missed the first couple of balls, didn't see if the ball went to the boundary, but the crowd went silent and I knew we had won. He bowled off-speed balls (on Webster), I was lucky that dew helped me in the end. I didn't see him coming to bowl in the 20th over, he was very good and I feel sorry for him for being on the losing start. MCG is a big stadium, the straight boundaries are short and I was looking at that region. It's building up nicely, I have had a crazy month (with him back in the Test team, becoming a father and selected for the India tour), throw in a bout of gastro and Covid, it's been such a month for me

The visitors lost two wickets in the Powerplay as the hosts were bowling well. But, Renshaw came in and kept the scoreboard ticking, playing according to the field and taking calculated risks. Brisbane kept losing wickets but Renshaw was cool as a cucumber in the tense situations. He ensured that his side doesn't fall behind and was at par with the asking rate. Some unnecessary shots resulted in wickets. Also, Renshaw was dropped once and a run-out chance against him was missed, that perhaps cost the hosts the game. The Brisbane side keep their hopes alive for qualifying to the Playoffs.
