Shadab Khan, United skipper and Player of the Match: Last two years I had lots of struggle with injuries and stuff like that. It really feels nice to do well in all the departments. As a captain you need to lead from the front and glad I am able to do that. The kind of bowlers we have, they are world class and the plan was to respond well and deliver under pressure. The team is doing well and that really matters the most to me more than my personal milestones.

Babar Azam, Kings' skipper: Unfortunately we lost all the games so far and hopefully we can turn it around and want to keep that belief and confidence going for the rest of the season. Whatever mistakes we did here we will try to avoid in Lahore. No partnerships with the bat tonight and nothing went to plan today.

Paul Stirling: It's been brilliant, good batting tracks here. I think that was the best performance, we spoke about complete team game two nights ago and we did it. It's fun to watch him (Hales) take on the bowlers and watch from the other end.

23:04 local: The chase never got going. The Kings kept losing wickets at regular intervals and a couple of run-outs among the top three didn't help their cause one bit. Skipper Shadab Khan bowled a terrific spell to kill the game in the middle-overs with a four-fer and Nabi's 28-ball 47 only proved to be a consolation in an otherwise sorry batting effort from the home team. This is the fifth straight loss for Karachi Kings (yet to win a game this season) and they will hope for change of fortunes as the action shifts to Lahore on Thursday for the rest of the tournament.

Mohammad Wasim Jr to Nabi, 1 run, full on the stumps, Nabi thumps it to the left of long-on and that's about it from the Kings. Islamabad United win by 42 runs and leap to the second spot in the points table
