Jofra Archer to Mitchell Marsh, 3 runs, to long-on
Mitchell Marsh and Markram are at the crease. Mitchell Marsh is on strike. Jofra Archer will open the attack
Out come the players and the umpires then. This is a crucial powerplay. Can the Royals keep Marsh and Markram quiet?
Jofra Archer - Nothing out of the way (on his injury comeback), just usual elbow stuff over a period of time, just building up over time. We've to take every game in its stride (on RR's performance so far), we competed in every match barring one. We need to keep going and hopefully our luck will change. Not a lot of faces have changed (on his comeback to the franchise), the coaches and some of the players have been the same, so it wasn't too hard to adjust. Just worry about the IPL now, we'll talk about it later (if he was thinking about the forthcoming Ashes later in the year).
Aiden Markram: It's been good, they're heavily destructive batters (on batting with Mitch Marsh and Nic Pooran), that has allowed me to play a different way. We had a lot of fun times together. Very relaxed (on coach Justin Langer), soaks in the pressure, they're working together on building up plans (on the coaching staff), we've enjoyed our time together. It's always unique, you don't want to step on his toes (on being a captain himself and on his relationship with Rishabh Pant), but you feel like you're a spring board if needed, we've some good discussions, but in the park, the captain wants to go by his gut feeling. He has been good so far for our team. I haven't faced him in the nets (on Mayank Yadav), but it's always great to have him back. Bigger venue here, big pockets for him, hopefully, he'll be able to use them to his advantage.
Here are the Impact substitutes for both the teams:
Lucknow Super Giants Impact Subs: Ayush Badoni, Mayank Yadav, Shahbaz Ahmed, Matthew Breetzke, Himmat Singh
Lucknow Super Giants (Playing XI): Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant(w/c), David Miller, Abdul Samad, Ravi Bishnoi, Shardul Thakur, Prince Yadav, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Avesh Khan
There was a little funny moment at the toss, Parag flipped the coin but Pant didn't call. They had to toss it again, Pant called tails and got it right.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at 14 days and 23 days old, becomes the youngest player to play in the IPL
