Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Mitchell Owen are at the crease. Lhuan-dre Pretorius is on strike. Craig Overton will open the attack
Tonight;'s game is the 100th match of this tournament. So who'll go home on a happier note? The players are out in the middle and we're ready for the start of QF2.
Both teams have named an unchanged XI when compared to their last match. We've made no changes to our pre-toss expert XI as well. Have a look before locking in your fantasy picks.
'Same pitch as that of last night, but it does look quite dry. Some indentations and some cracks, it doesn't look too bad though, the pace will be OK, might get quicker under lights and will skid on. The spinners might enjoy this surface a little bit more', reckons Mike Haysman, in his pitch report.
Aiden Markram - It would be cool, but it's a long way away, we just need to win today and keep ourselves in the hunt. We just need to up our levels by 5-10%, it was good to see the guys keyed up for a knockout game. The wicket didn't change a lot between innings, we just need to be calm under the chase. We had confidence with the win last night. Going with the same team.
David Miller - We will bat first. Good to get the runs on the board, a few results have gone that way this season. It's just about getting back to winning ways, everything to play for here, no more motivation is needed, we just need to change the momentum. We have been playing great cricket this season, we'll have to turn back to that. We've lost our way in the last few games with the bat, but that's how T20 rolls. We're going with the same team as QF1
Teams:
Sunrisers Eastern Cape (Playing XI): David Bedingham, Tony de Zorzi, Jordan Hermann, Tom Abell, Aiden Markram(c), Tristan Stubbs(w), Marco Jansen, Craig Overton, Liam Dawson, Ottneil Baartman, Richard Gleeson
Paarl Royals have won the toss and have opted to bat
4:30 pm local: We're back at the SuperSport Park as the Paarl Royal;s take on the Sunrisers Eastern Cape with a place in the final up for grabs. After a strong start to the season, the Royals have slipped a bit and are on a run of three straight losses, one of them being against the Sunrisers. Joe Root was the fulcrum of their batting and his departure for national duties has put a hole in that batting order. Time is fast running out for the men from Paarl and they need to find the magic tonic if they're to overcome the odds and beat the Sunrisers at the Highveld. On the other hand, SEC have got a grip of the conditions after their convincing win over the Super Kings yesterday at the same venue. The two-time defending champions have an enviable record in the playoffs and have won all their five games so far. They also seem to have the ideal team for the Highveld conditions and will once again start as the firm favourites. Toss and team sheets coming up shortly..
