Boult to de Kock, no run, good length ball around off, de Kock opens the bat face and directs it to cover-point
de Kock and Brandon King are at the crease. de Kock is on strike. Boult will open the attack
The players are making their way out to the middle. Newlands has turned into a sea of blue. Plenty of support for the home side.
We have made one change to our pre-toss Expert XI and you can check it out by logging into Fantasy Handbook.
Pitch and Conditions: "It is 27 degrees. It is beautiful. There's a little bit of breeze coming from the mount. There is one short boundary - 59 meters, 69 meters on the other side and 77 down the ground. It is a new surface. Looks like it has a nice shine. Looks like a belter. I think 170 might not be enough. It has some grass covering and I don't think the cracks are going to play a part. I think it is going to be fine for batting," inform Mike Haysman and Shaun Pollock.
Keshav Maharaj: We were looking to bat first. Hopefully we can utilise the conditions and put up a good score today. Hopefully with the wind around it dries the pitch. We have three changes. We need to focus on the next three games and forget about what has transpired.
Teams:
MI Cape Town (Playing XI): Rassie van der Dussen, Ryan Rickelton(w), Reeza Hendricks, Sediqullah Atal, Dewald Brevis, George Linde, Delano Potgieter, Rashid Khan(c), Corbin Bosch, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult
Durban Super Giants (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock(w), Matthew Breetzke, Brandon King, Kane Williamson, Marcus Stoinis, Heinrich Klaasen, Wiaan Mulder, Prenelan Subrayen, Keshav Maharaj(c), Junior Dala, Noor Ahmad
Keshav Maharaj: We were looking to bat first. Hopefully we can utilise the conditions and put up a good score today. Hopefully with the wind around it dries the pitch. You need a dry pitch for the spinners to come into the game. We have three changes. Yes, I know it is a lot but it is to give us the right balance. We need to focus on the next three games and forget about what has transpired till now.
Rashid Khan: We would like to bowl first. Fresh wicket, bowls first and see how it goes under lights. Less than 160-170. We still have to play our best cricket with whatever target is in front of us. You get such boundaries all around the world, as a bowler and as captain you have to plan accordingly and be smart. Every game is going to be important for us.
MI Cape Town have won the toss and have opted to field
18:00 Local Time, 14:30 GMT, 20:00 IST: A win for Paarl Royals in the first game of the day ensures they consolidate their spot at the top of the table, meaning MI Cape Town need to win this game to keep up with the Royals. They have been inconsistent with three wins out of six and one of their games was washed out. They're third in the points table and a win will take them to second. They're playing at home and that gives them an advantage. Also, Durban Super Giants are not in form and have lost 4 of their 7 games. They're not out of the playoffs race yet but need to start winning soon if they're to keep their season alive. These two were supposed to play each other in their respective previous games but rain intervened and that encounter was abandoned. Hopefully no such thing happens today and we witness a cracking contest. Toss and teams coming up.. Stay tuned
