19:48 Local Time, 09:48 GMT, 15:18 IST: A pretty challenging total posted by Sydney Thunder having been put in to bat first. David Warner played a skipper's knock and anchored the innings till the 15th over, while the other batters chipped in with handy contributions in their skipper's company. The Thunder batters kept getting those timely boundaries, but the Heat bowlers also managed to take wickets at regular intervals throughout the innings. Neser, Johnson and Bartlett - all the Brisbane pacers were amongst the wickets as they restrict the batters to an extent. Matthew Kuhnemann took a couple of wickets in the middle overs, but Swepson proved to be slightly expensive today. Dan Christian gave the finishing touches as his cameo took Thunder over the 170-run mark. Can the Heat chase it down? Join us back in 10 minutes for the second essay to find out..
