There was rain forecast for all five days of this Test but there was hardly any rain on the first three days and the batsmen piled on the runs. We had one session of play today which saw young Nyamhuri break the marathon 364-run partnership by dismissing Rahmat and claiming his maiden Test wicket. Shahidi was in no mood to throw his wicket away and he was involved in a half-century stand with Afsar Zazai. There were some ominous dark clouds when the players came out after the lunch interval and they were asked to leave the field after a couple of overs as there was lightning and thunder which was followed by rain. No further play was possible and with just one day left, this Test is heading towards a draw. Afghanistan trail by 71 runs with 7 wickets in hand in reply to Zimbabwe's 586 and there could be a few interruptions on the final day as well.
