Just In: Afghanistan Cricket Board has posted on X a while back that "Gurbaz has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a grade 2B quadriceps injury along with a bony hip flexor injury. Mohammad Ishaq has been named as his replacement for the series."
Hello and a warm welcome to our live coverage of the 1st ODI of the 3-match series between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in Harare. The visitors won the recently concluded T20I series 2-1 against the hosts. It was a collective effort from Afghanistan as they scripted a fine turnaround after losing the first game of the series. Zimbabwe will be led by Craig Ervine in this series and they will be eyeing to make things difficult for Afghanistan. Ben Curran’s name has been in the spotlight of late and he joins the squad brimming with potential. Meanwhile for Afghanistan, the likes of Hashmatullah Shahidi, Rahmat Shah and Allah Ghanzafar being in the ODI setup bolsters them even further. These two sides have faced each other in 28 ODIs so far – Afghanistan have won 18 of those games while Zimbabwe have won only 10. Expect a tough tussle between bat and ball. Toss and team lineups will be announced in a while...
