The players are out in the middle and we are ready for live action.
Nathan Smith: I love bowling in these seamer-friendly conditions. Need to adapt to what the skipper says. Was nice to get that (Brook) run-out before Tea. The crowd is really getting behind us, that's nice. We need partnerships to get close to their score. Felt that it was more like a day 2 wicket yesterday. It might flatten out as the game progresses. Was excited last week.
Pitch report: Lovely bowling conditions. The ball will swing a little more. There will be some pace and bounce, some sideway movement. There's a green tinge of grass. It won't turn much, but the spinners will enjoy the bounce. A lot of work for the NZ lower-order battters to do.

18:33 Local Time, 05:33 GMT, 11:03 IST: 15 wickets in the day and this Test has moved ahead at the rate of knots. New Zealand were in the driver's seat after having England 43/4 in the morning session, but Brook and Pope turned things around with their 174-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Brook scored a fantastic century, while Pope supported him with a fifty as England scored 280 in their first innings. New Zealand had a session to negotiate after bowling out England for 280, but the hosts succummed against the opposition pacers. Just like the Kiwi pacers, even the England pacers kept taking wickets at regular intervals as the new ball kept nipping around.
