It's action time. The players are out in the middle. Two slips and a gully in place. Off we go...
Glenn Phillips: (On his spectacular catch) Gully is a very unique position. You look at two different areas - the cut shot and the big cover drive coming your way. For me, it's hoping that one of those two areas shape up and l guess just look for general vicinity area where the ball is going to come through. For a person at gully, it becomes a very reactionary catch. You feel a lot more in the game there and you start having an anticipation factor of what side it might go and after that, it's pure luck. There's probably a metre in front of me. You pick up all the information you can. Especially with those type of catches, you don't really think you have any chance of getting them, so you throw everything at it and you don't really see the last metre of it. When you hit the ground, you hope it sticks. I thought about it (Labuschagne's catch) once the catch was taken. When I watched it on the big screen, I was like, "oh". I enjoyed yesterday's a little bit more.
Pitch Report | David Gower and Harry Brook: Still plenty of green that hasn't gone anywhere but it has changed colour. It's a light shade of green. That's the encouragement for the bowlers. There was nibble in the wicket yesterday. There's something to grip for. It's the bounce that has caused problems. The 6m length is where you would want to bowl here. New Zealand could look to bowl slightly fuller.
10:33 Local Time, 21:33 GMT, 03:03 IST: Hello everyone and a warm welcome to the third day's play of the first Test between New Zealand and England.
Nathan Smith: It was good fun, good time in the park with the boys, I thought we bowled well, but didn't help ourselves in the field. Personally, I thought I bowled well, getting rid of Joe Root was special, he's a classy batter. We judge ourselves with the chances we create and I thought we created quite a few. These guys bat positively and keeping a check on the run-rate was difficult. We'll have to come back tomorrow and start well.
