16:15 Local Time, 15:15 GMT, 20:45 IST: Most of the covers have been taken off which is a good sign.
15:45 Local Time, 14:45 GMT, 20:15 IST: There was a pitch inspection around 15 minutes back. We are hearing that if the rain holds, another pitch inspection will take place at 4.15pm local time.
15:25 Local Time, 14:25 GMT, 19:55 IST: Nothing new to report as it continues to rain.
14:30 Local Time, 13:30 GMT, 19:00 IST: Live pictures are not looking great. It is still raining and the covers are firmly in place. The conditions above look pretty dark and so do our chances of getting a game. The toss is definitely not happening on time. But at least let's hope for a shortened game. Fingers crossed.
14:00 Local Time, 13:00 GMT, 18:30 IST: We are past the halfway mark in the season and each team has just three more games to play, so every fixture from hereon becomes important especially with a muddle in the middle of the points table with three teams tied on 6 and one on 4. Welsh Fire have played 5 games, winning 2 and losing 3. They need a win today to keep in touch with the five teams above them. Northern Superchargers have won 3 out of their 5 games but need to keep winning if they're to get close to the top two. All eyes were on Ben Stokes when the Superchargers took the field last time and he will be the focal point today as well. He scored a golden duck in that game. What can we expect from him today? Welsh Fire's batting has been the problem as they haven't passed the 130-mark even once in the five games. Can they fire today? First let's hope the weather clears up as the women's game was abandoned. More updates coming up..
