Complete Jaffna Kings won by 1 run

A thriller at Colombo and that sets up well for the title clash. We'll be back tomorrow for the last game of #LPL24. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Charith Asalanka - It's a great feeling to play the final, but tomorrow is the most important game of the tournament. I thought 188 was a very good score, but they came hard at us, it was a tricky match and I think the bowlers came up well. I'll chat with the coach regarding the team combination for tomorrow's match.
Wanindu Hasaranga - The wicket was good, the target was chaseable and we played pretty well, it was a good game. As a team, we had a good tournament, the seniors and the juniors gelled well. Was pretty decent myself considering the conditions.
Kusal Mendis, PoTM - I hadn't done well previously, here as well, we lost a couple of wickets early, but the captain and the team management supported me, my job was to stay deep and play my shots when given the chance. I was told to not worry (about the lack of form), they backed me and I'm happy to have played a good innings. Looking forward to tomorrow's match and the India series.
23:07 Local Time, 17:37 GMT, 23:07 IST: A thrilling game and the Kings have set-up a title clash with the Marvels from Galle. Kandy Falcons, the defending champions, will look back at minor mistakes that has ended the defence of their title. They had plenty of batters who got starts, but none of them took control and batted deep - they kept losing wickets and they kept faltering - it all looked lost when they needed 38 off the last two overs, but Ramesh Mendis and Pawan Ratnayake nearly pulled off a heist - Behrendorff's 19th over went for 21, that gave them hope and they nearly pulled off the impossible, but Asitha Fernando held his nerve to defend 17 off the last over - Ramesh Mendis's 11-ball 30* and Ratnayaka's 5-ball 11* bringing them very close, only to fall short by 1 run. But the night belonged to two men, Kusal Mendis with the bat and Fabian Allen, both with the ball and in the field.

Asitha Fernando to Ramesh Mendis, 2 runs, a wild throw and both batters get away - Kusal Mendis ain't happy with the fielder, it was Nissank, who threw in from long-on, yorker length delivery and Ramesh Mendis squeezed it down to long-on, was always coming back for the second, they noe need 10 runs off 2 balls

Behrendorff to Ramesh Mendis, no ball, 1 run, a high full-toss, Mendis swings across the line, loses his bat in the process and slices a thick edge over backward point - the fielder at short third man runs across and takes the catch. But is it a no-ball? It's a pretty high and Ramesh Mendis was swinging from the crease, he's standing upftont. 'It's a clear no-ball', says Russel Arnold, on commentary. It's given as a no-ball, much to Jaffna's chagrin. So, the Falcones gets a run and a free-hity as well
