Welcome back for the chase.
Smriti Mandhana: The wicket wasn't playing the way it was in the first match. So, had to change a few things initially, not used to being 0 off 18 balls, but I had to tackle that situation. Later on when Harmanpreet came, she batted beautifully from the first ball and made my job easy. Really happy that we could get a 200+ score and she could get a hundred in the last over. Cricket has taught that we can't take anything for granted. It was really important to come out fresh today. They bowled brilliantly in the first 15 overs, so I had to change my plan. You always start from 0. The first 15 overs, there was a lot of seam movement. The wicket eased out. Maybe it'll do a little bit under lights. There are a lot of cracks. We have to bowl in the right areas.
16:51 Local Time, 11:21 GMT, 16:51 IST: No one saw this coming, not after India's extremely slow start in the batting PP where they used up as many as 49 dot balls, but Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur's sensational hundreds have all but batted South Africa out of the game. They had plenty of luck as well - both batters were reprieved, the bowlers lost their sting and boundaries came at absolute will. The pair added 171 off 136 balls before Smriti was finally dismissed, but not before she com,pleated back-to-back hundreds. Harmanprett though kept going, reached the 90s, was lucky to be reprieved once again and completed her hundred off the penultimate ball of the innings. Nothing much went SA's way, but they didn't help themselves in the field. Considering their effort in the first ODI with the bat, it's fair to say they've been batted out already, but this is a true pitch and they've some serious firepower in the shed. We'll be back shortly for the chase..
