Canada (Playing XI): Aaron Johnson, Navneet Dhaliwal, Pargat Singh, Nicholas Kirton, Shreyas Movva(w), Ravinderpal Singh, Saad Bin Zafar(c), Dillon Heyliger, Kaleem Sana, Junaid Siddiqui, Jeremy Gordon
Pakistan (Playing XI): Mohammad Rizwan(w), Saim Ayub, Babar Azam(c), Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir
Saad Bin Zafar: I would have bowled first as well. But we have seen teams have found it difficult chasing, so hopefully we can put the runs on the board. We have one change. We have been playing some good cricket and want to continue that consistency. We understand it is a must-win game for them and they are under pressure, put some runs on the board and put pressure on them.

Babar Azam: xWe will have a bowl first. It is an early morning match and want to utilize the first six overs.

Pitch and Conditions: "Glorious day. It is going to be warm with the highest being 33 degrees. We have 70 meters on the right, 66 on the left and 73 down the ground. We are on a fresh pitch today. There is a lot of moisture in the pitch and the grass is nicely rolled in. As a team and as a bowler you would want to bowl first if you win the toss. It won't be easy and 130-135 will be a good total. You don't have to do much as a bowler and just have to bowl in the right areas. This is not the pitch to bowl slower balls, seam-up and get that lateral movement," reckon Wasim Akram and Ebony Rainford-Brent.
Canada have proven they are not pushovers in this tournament. They almost started their campaign with a bang if not for Jones-Gous heroics but they bounced back quickly to beat an experienced Ireland side. The batters have put the runs on the board even in tough conditions and the bowlers though couldn't defend 194 against USA, defended 135 against Ireland. But this is going to be even more challenging as Pakistan's pace quartet has been in form and are lethal. The pitch won't be easy and that actually might favour Canada as it evens out the odds. The toss and teams coming up.. Stay tuned
09:30 Local Time, 13:30 GMT, 19:00 IST: Less than 48 hours ago Pakistan had their World Cup hopes slip out of their hand and today they are back to try and grasp it tightly before it completely slips out. Hello and welcome to the all important match 22.. Mercurial, inconsistent, volatile - these are some of the words associated with the Pakistan team and if the first two games are any indication then those terms are true. Losing to United States of America might be considered as a one-off, something that can happen in this format but chasing 120 against India and being in control for three-fourths of the game and still losing is what would have frustrated them. They can't afford any more inconsistency or slip ups as this is a must-win game. So which Pakistan team would turn? Let's find out..
Preview

Less than 48 hours after their insipid batting performance against India, Pakistan will be gearing up for their next encounter at the same venue where they slow-burned their way to a defeat in the most-watched cricketing spectacle. Up against Canada, it should be their easiest challenge in the competition, but in the two games so far at this World Cup, they have shown the ability to let the opposition take over in the most unlikeliest of situations.

Unfortunately, for now, there is no room for any more slip-ups for the former champions. Even a victory, at best, merely guarantees them only the possibility of staying afloat in the tournament. Their pacers have turned up well, but in every other department they have been found wanting. Form has deserted them for long, and with each passing defeat over the last few months, it won't be surprising if even their confidence has taken a hit.

Most worrying of their concerns would be their inability to dominate the pressure situations in the game. And it won't help that Canada would be coming up a far more confident unit, having secured their first-ever T20 World Cup win after defeating Ireland. Nicholas Kirton and Shreyas Movva have been the standout performers with the bat, but they would need a more all-round performance to go a level up and keep even their hopes alive in the competition.

When: Tuesday, June 11, 10:30 AM (Local Time), 8:00 PM (IST)

Where: Pakistan vs Canada, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York

What to expect: Run scoring has been extremely difficult at the Nassau County ground, and it's expected to be another low-scoring encounter. It is expected to be slightly cloudly as well, but no rain is predicted.

Head to head: Pakistan 1 - 0 Canada

Team Watch:

Pakistan: Babar Azam's side may stick to a similar combination, but could be tempted to bring in Azam Khan or Saim Ayub in place of Usman Khan

Tactics & Matchups: Aaron Johnson has been explosive in the Powerplay, especially against the left-arm pacers. Naseem Shah could hold the key as Pakistan will look to get him out early. In what is expected to be a low-scoring encounter, the duration of Johnson's stay in the middle could prove decisive.

Probable XI: Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad, Imad Wasim/Azam Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir

Canada: At the back of their historic win, the team from North America might prefer to go unchanged.

Tactics & Matchups: Even as the conditions have aided pacers, the likes of Babar Azam, Azam Khan, Saim Ayub and Imad Wasim haven't enjoyed playing spinners either, striking at less than 125 in T20Is since January 2022.

Probable XI: Aaron Johnson, Navneet Dhaliwal, Pargat Singh, Dilpreet Bajwa, Nicholas Kirton, Shreyas Movva, Dillon Heylinger, Saad bin Zafar, Junai Siddiqui, Kaleem Sana, Jeremy Gordon

What they said:

Bouncing back from the first game was important. Trust me, it wasn't that easy... Very good to get our first win in the WC. Hopefully we can continue from strength to strength. Our next focus is Pakistan - Nicholas Kirton, following Canada's win against Ireland

As a batting unit, you can't lose as many wickets as we are losing. Players have got to take responsibility when that opportunity comes - Gary Kirsten after Pakistan's loss against India
