Day 4: A positive show with the bat yesterday has taken England into the ascendancy. Brook and Root have batted proactively and will look to continue to do so. The West Indian bowlers need to be more consistent with their lines and lengths and induce more false strokes. The wicket is still good for batting with minimal indentations. England are already ahead by 207 runs and will be eyeing to take the game further away from the visitors. Can the West Indies take some early wickets today and put pressure on the hosts? Expect another riveting day of Test cricket...
18:43 Local Time, 17:43 GMT, 23:13 IST: Another engrossing day of Test cricket comes to an end! West Indies lost some early wickets this morning and were in danger of conceding a lead. But, Da Silva and Shamar Joseph played brilliantly to add 71 off 78 balls for the final wicket to help their side gain a 41-run lead. The English batters in response batted positively as they always do in the modern era. Crawley suffered an unfortunate run-out and departed cheaply. But, Duckett and Pope joined hands and mixed caution with aggression to perfection. Both of them raised their fifties and were in good flow. But, there was a change of ball that changed things. Alzarri got the ball to talk and got rid of both of them in quick succession. Once again, two English batters came to to fore, this time in the form of Root and Brook. Brook took his chances and scored some quick runs. Root was a bit tentative times but got through the tricky phase. The West Indies pacers were decent with the ball but not penetrative enough. England lead by 207 now and hold the upper hand at present. Still, a lot of time left in this Test and let's see which side absorbs pressure better. Join us tomorrow for Day 4 to catch all the action. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!
