Player of Match: Jasprit Bumrah

Rohit Sharma: We will bowl first, cannot get bigger than this, fantastic atmosphere. Sure lot of us are going to experience something really extraordinary. It's a good track, not going to change much, dew could be a big factor and keeping that in mind, we want to bowl first. We want to keep striving for the best, we want to come out there and give our best in every game.
India have won the toss and have opted to field
It's toss time at Ahmedabad!
"Gill, though, is the first one done with the warmups. He's grabbed a bottle of water and gone off up those long steps and into the dressing room. The rest of the squad continue warming up with progressively increased intensity. The plot thickens," says Kaushik as mystery over Gill's inclusion continues.
Latest from Kaushik: Gill is now doing a slip-fielding drill. Possibly the biggest indication that he is playing.
1.15pm local: India are in a huddle with Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma taking turns to lead the talk.
Aniruddha Sinha: @Shuja Mushtaq: There is a flip side to it. India playing against Pakistan in front of 100,000 people with each one of them expecting India to win, that is a different kind of pressure altogether and playing with that too is not easy.
Kaushik has more updates from the venue: Rohit and KL are the first two out. The former taking a look at the pitch, the latter just running and stretching. Then the roof goes off as Kohli walks out with a bat. I don't see Gill yet. Ishan is here and he's just playing some football - not exactly warming up either.
Shuja Mushtaq: Both the captains by keeping the past behind, have stated that we are focusing on the present. Now it remains worth to be seen how the team Pakistan handles the pressure. Playing in front of 100,000 people with less support is not easy.
1.05pm local: India have reaffirmed their favourites tag with the start they've had to the campaign, and a huge factor in that has been the form of their batting order. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, they all look in sublime touch. Kohli and Rahul led a superb rescue act against Australia after slipping to 2/3 in a tricky chase. Then in the next game against Afghanistan, it was captain Rohit's turn to set the stage on fire with a terrific hundred off just 63 balls - the fastest by an Indian in World Cups.
Abinash Das: My favourite memory is the 2011 semifinal, where Sachin Tendulkar scored a scratchy but crucial 85 runs despite not being his fluent best. In 2003, if his innings of 98 had absolute finesse, his 2011 innings displayed the mental fortitude to sail through a formidable hurdle.
Pakistan will be thankful that Hasan Ali has stepped up, and how! He only made his way into the team because of Naseem Shah's absence, but has bowled really good lengths.
12.50pm local: We spoke earlier about Siraj not being in his best rhythm, but what about the Pakistan camp? What about Shaheen Shah Afridi? He hasn't been at his best either. Babar Azam, though, isn't all that concerned. "As far as Shaheen is concerned, he is our best bowler, he is our champion, I believe he is a big-match bowler. He will give a big performance. It doesn't matter if he hasn't taken wickets in the last one or two matches. There is no question mark against him. We totally believe in him. He totally believes in himself," the Pakistan captain said on match eve.
Kaushik adds: "Babar Azam is out there for some visualisation. As is Rahul Dravid who takes a look at the wicket"
Rajesh Nagaiya: Favourite Memory: When Sachin slashed steaming Shoaib Akhtar for a huge six in 2003 WC Semi-Final. Still Goosebumps when I recollect that memory!
"The concert has begun," says our correspondent Kaushik Rangarajan from the stadium. "Just half the crowd in at this point. Still 1.5 hours to the first ball, so I suppose it's only fair."
The pitch is hidden from the cameras as there's a cover on it. But here's what Sanjay Manjrekar and Matthew Hayden have to offer on broadcast: Black soil pitch. A lot of rolling has been done, which means lot of runs. It's going to be a batting track 300+ total.
As good as Bumrah has been, India will also look to Mohammed SIraj who has taken just one slog-overs wicket so far in this tournament. He was phenomenal in the Asia Cup final where he destroyed Sri Lanka, but has lacked the same rhythm on pitches with admittedly less help so far.
Digant Oza: My favourite memory is the dancing of Javed Miadad against Kiran More in the 1992 WC match .
12.30pm local: Six wickets in 2 matches, both of those in conditions not hugely favourable for fast bowling. His meteoric rise to become one of the world's best bowlers is well documented, but still, let's talk about Jasprit Bumrah. And what better way than to go through the piece linked above.
