Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran are at the crease. Gurbaz is on strike. Woakes will open the attack
The bell is rung and we're ready for Match 13 of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Chris Woakes with the new ball for England, two slips in place. Rod Tucker shouts play and Woakes steams in, but Gurbaz ain't ready
A good crowd in already at the Arun Jaitely stadium as the teams walk out for the national anthems.
Toss and the conditions have prompted us into making a couple of changes. Is your fantasy XI matching the one that has been picked by our experts?
Teams:
Afghanistan (Playing XI): Rahmanullah Gurbaz(w), Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi(c), Mohammad Nabi, Ikram Alikhil, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi
England (Playing XI): Jonny Bairstow(w/c), Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley
Hashmatullah Shahidi - We wanted to bowl first, but this is a 100-over game, we'll have to bat well. Looks like a batting pitch, expecting the same conditions like the last game. Hopeful of doing well and putting pressure on them. We've good spin options and anything around 300 should be a good score. One change, Najib is not playing, Ikram replaces him.
Jos Buttler - We will bowl first. No particular reason, looks like a good wicket and we'll like to chase. We are going with an unchanged side. LOoks like a good batting strip, South Africa and India posted big scores. I think we've improved a lot from the first to the second game, we just have to show the same intensity.
England have won the toss and have opted to field
It's hot, but there is some breeze coming along. 66m and 58m square boundaries, while the straight hit is at 72m. This is a pitch full of runs, not a lot of turn and there could be a bit of dew in the evening. Win the toss and bowl first, any total is chaseable, say Dinesh Karthik and Lisa Sthalekar, in their pitch report

Prakash Govindasreenivasan is up and early at the ground and he sends us this bit of news. 'Not much clarity on Stokes's availability from Joe Root's presser yesterday. Root said he 'trained well' on Friday. On both Friday and Saturday, he had long nets session but only took throwdowns. He moved a lot better in the nets yesterday than he did in Dharamsala last week but he still didn't seem 100% fit. Another doubt was Woakes because he missed Friday through illness. But he was back yesterday and is out bowling on the side right now'
Mohammed Nabi, who off-side playing in his 150th ODI, has been presented with a plaque. Can he make the occassion sweter with a win over England? The twi teams haven't faced each other outside the WC and the 2 meeing in the quadrangular extragavanza has gone in favour of the English.
13:05 Local Time, 07:35 GMT: Team News - Ben Stokes has shown encouraging signs of recovery and has trained well, but England could well still keep him underwraps ahead of their marquee encounter against South Africa on Saturday. Chris Woakes was down with a stomach bug, but has since recovered. England do have David Willey in the reserves if they do deem fit to make a change. On the other hand, there are no injuries to report from the Afghan camp and any changes could only be tactical.
12:55 Local Time, 07:25 GMT, 12:55 IST: We're back at the Arun Jaitely stadium and we're back at a venue where the 4 World Cup scores so far read as 428, 326, 272 and 273 (in 35 overs). Unlike the other venues, Delhi has been completely batting friendly. The grass cover has only helped the ball slide on and with short boundaries all around, the batters from every team have had a whale of a time, obviously at the expense of the poor bowlers. So, it's England v Afghanistan today and on paper, this looks like a slight mismatch. When the two teams last met in aWorld Cup match, England blasted 25 sixes, 17 of them alone by captain Eoin Morgan and Rashid Khan returned with 0 for 110 off 9 overs, his worst ever figures in ODI cricket. Cut to 2023, both teams will view this match as a must-win game. England recovered well from the New Zealand jolt to thrash Bangladesh in their last match while Afghanistan haven't quite got their 'A' game into play so far. With India, New Zealand and South Africa showing strong form, it's imperative for both teams to not slip-up.
